Thorpe Park more a thrill park than a theme park

Thorpe Park sees the opening of its later roller coaster SAW, in 2009.
There are also other roller coasters and thriller rides to go on. Thorpe park is very popular, especially for the teenager and young adults.
I took my young family there two years ago, and did not consider it very good value for money for a family. That's because it isn't really a family theme park. You would have much more fun going to Chessington World of Adventures or Legoland Windsor.
Thorpe park is aimed primarily at thrill seekers, and it does a great job of entertaining them.
Be prepared to queue for the big Thorpe Park attractions, so plan in advance by taking your music devices (but don't lose them from your pockets), sweets and carrot sticks(!) and drinks.

Review of a fun day out at Chessington World of Adventures

Last year I took the family 2 adults & 3 children & 1 toddler to Chessington World of Adventures theme park in Surrey for my son's birthday, and we all enjoyed it very much.

We got there quite early, about half an hour after it opened, parking was easy, and we only had to queue for about 5 minutes for our tickets. It was a cloudy Summer day with rain threatening, and was busy enough, but not too crowded.

Chessington World of Advenutres Theme Park has so many different activities to choose from. We started off doing Dragon Falls before it got too busy, and then did Tomb Blaster and the runaway train followed by some of the kiddie rides like the toadie cars.

We took our own picnic, and then spent a leisurely afternoon walking around the zoo and trails, we spent a good half an hour in the aquarium, and enjoyed hocus pocus hall. We finished exploring Beano land and going on the high swings.

So overall we spent very little time queueing - except for about twenty minutes on the runaway train. We didn't do the bubble factory or the vampire ride which was about an hour's queue.

Finally it only took us about twenty minutes to get out of the car park.

So a day out we all enjoyed. We paid a total of about seventy pounds for two adults and three children.
